or should i just get the ultrasonic replant and rely on that to get rid of the mice?I have mice in my house would you recommended getting a trap then using the ultrasonic repellant?
use a trap first then the ultra sound repellant. because they will just move to an area of the house where the noise doesn't bother them.
peanut butter works the best.I have mice in my house would you recommended getting a trap then using the ultrasonic repellant?
Ultrasonic things don't work. Trust me, we tried.
Glue traps are cruel and awful, and the old fashioned mouse traps are dangerous your own fingers.
Mouse poison is supposed to make the mice want to run out of the building to find water, but usually they run to leaky pipes inside walls, and then stink for 4-5 months.
I use the D-Con traps. They are like the snap traps, but covered, reusable, and if you use them according to the directions you won't be at risk of breaking a finger.

Bait them according to directions using peanut butter. When the trap is sprung, hold the trap over the trash and release the sprung trap. The mouse falls out, and then you can rinse the trap out, rebait it, and then reset it.
Mice are repelled by peppermint and peppermint oil, btw. It smells somewhat like a dumpster to them. It won't drive them out, but it will discourage them.
Good luck!
Ultrasonic devices work for only a few days, then the rodents ignore them.
If you don't like dealing with the mice (which is completely understandable), you can throw the trap and mouse away. Buy some Victor mousetraps. Bait with peanut butter. Wrap a little thread 2-3 times around the trigger, loosely enough so that the thread does not cut into the p.b. This will prevent the mouse from stealing the bait.
Place the traps along walls where they run, behind fridges, washing machines, under sinks, and around trash cans.
When a ';customer'; arrives, put on some gloves and throw the trap and the mouse away. Place a new trap in its place.
This way, you'll be sure you get them. Good luck!
I say try both at first and see which works the best. If the ultrasonic works then remove traps or vice versa. It's best to try it all in the beginning so you know what works for next time. Best of luck!
Can you borrow a hungry cat? That's the cheapest, most fuel efficient, green, ecologically sound solution that I can think of. And it works pretty good too.
