How far away from my home should I release mice caught in a live trap?

How far away from my home should I release mice caught in a live trap? What's to keep them from coming back inside my home? I don't want to cause their death, but I don't want to live w/them!!! If I release when it's subfreezing, will they be okay? Any advice on this topic would be appreciated. How far away from my home should I release mice caught in a live trap?
well, to keep them from coming back you probably need to release them several miles from your home. the bad news is that once you release them they are as good as dead. they have no shelter or reliable food sources. How far away from my home should I release mice caught in a live trap?
drop them in a open field far away from your house. there they should get plenty of food.
Just drop them off where they will be someone else's problem. They are clever so it should take them no time to find warm shelter and food. If not, well, then they just die a slow painful death.
