When did you start feeding your corn snake live mice?

At what age was he/she big enough?

How did you prepare her for it?

Have you ever had any complications with live feeding? When did you start feeding your corn snake live mice?
Well, you can start feeding them live from their hatch date, so there's no preparing. However I recommend using frozen/thawed for a few reasons. One, it can be dangerous for the snake. I have a picky Ball Python who won't touch frozen/thawed food and several of her prey items try to bite her. Not only that, but a few times, she killed her prey and refused to eat it. Live food also gets very expensive as your snake needs larger meals. Frozen/thawed food is cheap, not dangerous and you can keep a large amount for a long time. Also, if the snake refuses a meal for w/e reason, you have to feed and take care of the mouse until the snake DOES eat it, where as frozen/thawed mice can be refrozen and not worried about. I can't stop you from feeding live, but there are the pros and cons lol. Good luck with your corn snake ^^When did you start feeding your corn snake live mice?
snakes can eat live food from the time of their birth.

The food must be properly sized for them, around the size of their head-2x bigger then their head.

They should natually take to live food readily with no transition required.

The downfall is if you opt not to pre-kill or stun the mice the snake could recieve bite wounds from the mouse if the snake does not strike at the mouse's head. Also do not leave live mice in the snake cage unattended as there is always the chance the mouse could injuire your snake. Food that has not been frozen also can transmit certin worms from the prey animal to the snake.
I have started feeding my adult corn snake live mice when it was a year old my baby corn snake i am now feeding baby mice live pinkies.

I got her to eat her live mice on accident i had to put a mouse down and her cage was the only one that was open. So i put it in there. the next thing i new i see her wrapped around the mouse.

I have had one problem with feeding live mice. Miss strikes. Biting in the wrong place when my snake bites in the wrong place the mouse bites it. The worst problem i ever had is when she bit it by the tail.
Never started i have always been on frozen.

It is alot better for your snake,

no chance in it getting injuried.(:
