Ways to prevent mice from coming in my house?

is there anything else I can do to prevent them from coming in? we kill them in traps, but more get in.Ways to prevent mice from coming in my house?
Same thing I suggest to anyone with any type of unwanted pest in the house. You absolutely must find the place where these mice are coming in and once you do you can get a can of Great Stuff! and that will seal up the hole not even letting water to get in that place. The other hint I give is if you cannot find from the inside where they are coming in then go outside and look for possible places they could be coming in and seal them up with the expanding foam.Ways to prevent mice from coming in my house?
Find where they are getting in then lay down Ratsak (made by Yates in Australia) pellets. Sounds as if you have a nest somewhere. See if you can find it then lay baits there. Careful if you have animals or small children. We keep small trays of this in the garden shed and downstairs laundry and have no problems with any vermin.
Don't keep food out. Have an exterminator come. Make sure there are no entrances/exits to your home that they may access. This is most commonly under your sink around the drain pipe. If there is space around it, fill it in with brillo pads. They can't chew through them. There's mouse/rat bait that they love to eat. They are small blue pellets that they take back into the walls with them to infect the others. Good luck.
well I'm having the same problem. first this is what i did

i found out where they were getting in from

it was under the board in the kitchen cabinet .7 holes.

next I got some steel wool pads from Walmart and stuffed them into the holes deep using a tire iron to push it in the wall,

then oi gave it two days and checked ----- they punked me

pulled the wool out and stacked it by the door.

so my next move is to re pack the holes with more wool then get a bag of cement and fill it in with that.

i did that at a rental i have and it worked there.
do you have any food around

corn feed

bird feed

dog food

any thing like that will make them want to come around you need to either get rid of food or make it totally inaccessible and mice can get into anything

good luck
Mice will get in through any and all openings.

Air ducts, may have holes in them.

If you find any holes, replace the flooring with new wood. If it is around plumbing, you can use steel wool and stuff it around the pipe, if the pipe is metal, use some type of lubricant like grease where the two touch, or some tar paper. Anything else and the mouse will just eat through it.

Check the Duct work in your home, fix any holes there.

Wouldn't hurt to have them cleaned out.

You may not be getting more from outside, but new ones from inside your home. Mice mate regularly and take very good care of the offspring.

So, you may have some nests in your home.

You can put out any kind of carbonated material, even soda pop. I used Alka Seltzer.

Mice don't pass gas.

It dries them up, and when they drink, well, it just does the trick.

Just make sure the only water they can get to is outside.

Hope this helps
