Does anybody know how to get rid of mice in the house?

I clean all the time, i never have food available for them, but they're always around. I detest these creatures! I've tried poison but they eat all of it and i still see mice around. What shall i do?Does anybody know how to get rid of mice in the house?
Poor you, it's awful isn't it! I've had the same problem, they seem to be very common in my area.

I find that glue traps work well - you might want to bait them with chocolate or biscuit crumbs or something sweet. Find out where they run and where they've left droppings and place the traps there. Then next time they run around, they'll get stuck! They're easy to dispose of that way, and you don't have to touch a dead mouse - yuck!!! I know it's not the most 'humane' way to do it, but I don't care - they are detestable little creatures!

I wouldn't advise poison, because they may eat it and go back to their nest and die inside the walls or floorboards and that really stinks. And apparently, they've become resistant to some poisons - They've gotten so clever, I swear to God, if there was a nuclear holocaust, only the mice would survive!

You might also try placing containers with mothballs around the house - they don't like the smell.

If all else fails, try contacting your local council Environmental Services - after all what do we pay council tax for!

Good luckDoes anybody know how to get rid of mice in the house?
mice are best gotten rid of with traps as if they eat the poison they then die inside your walls or floorboards and the wholoe house stinks of dead mouse for agess.

Getting a cat would do the trick....but if you don't want to do that...borrow one for a couple of weeks....better than poison!!
get rat traps or call an exterminer gd luck hope this helps xx
I suggest that poison doesn't work, because normally you just have to put some poison on the peace of cheese, mice should die, but they will stink as well.

Another option get special trap for mice.

Or borrow a cat. people say that mice feel smell of cat and runaway.

and speak to you neighbours as well because you said you keep everything clean, so maybe mice com,e from your neighbours.

If it doesn't help than call pest control
your best getting yourself a rat infestation, where there are rats you'll get no mice
Be careful with poisons or you could be infested with blue bottles if the mice die while in hiding. They love mars bars (seriously) so get some humane mouse traps and set them with chocolate as bait. Re set the traps for at least a week after the traps stop being activated to ensure that you caught them all. Failing this its pest control I'm afraid.
u can buy some cats or call the exterminators
get renokill in or buy a cat or borrow one for a week the smell may keep them away
mousetraps ? have you tried it with cheese ? Try getting a cat they are excellent mouse catchers .
u can but humane mice traps....please don麓麓t kill them
Poor you, I sympathise.

Here, try some of these:

1. A friendly mouse trap. Search on Ebay or something, and once received, place some bread or peanut-butter at the end. Once the Mouse goes in, a flap will close. He will be trapped, so you can set him free, far away from your house.

2. Pest Control. Try and get them to find the hole, so you, or a plumber or electrician, or somebody suitable can seal the hole, and block them out.

3. Desperation Method: BUY A CAT!

(or a gun, if you're quick enough to shoot them. :P)

I hope you have much luck with this.
You can buy an electronic ultrasound generator, around 拢20, just plug it in to the mains, the sound only affects rats and mice.

geoffb
i really feel for you

i have the same problem, but so far only one mouse has been spotted

poison and traps did not work so now i have placed blocks of clothes washing powder around the room, something will work!

good luck!
get a cat
I had this problem and I used mouse traps. I caught 6 in 2 days. haven't had them since.
set traps. are they all over the house. are you near fields or a pet shop.
Find out how they are getting in - probably through a hole or something. Once you find out how they are getting in repair so they won't keep coming in. In the meantime they have these mouse traps, not the regular ones where you put cheese on it. They have these glue traps. Just put a few around the house and once the mouse get on there they can't get off. They usually can't see these traps like the regular traps plus you don't have to worry about wasting cheese.
Buy a Rat Zapper, off E-Bay, they are good I caught 6 mice in 9 days in my garage and have experienced no more.

They take 4x pencil batteries and when a mouse walks on it they are humanely electrocuted.

A very good product.
Get a old fashion mouse trap and break their necks (CRACK!), they do the job quickly and never even realize.
They are getting in somehow. You need to fill gaps with metal (tops of cans cut to fit work great). Look where power and gas come into your home or go to your appliances. Mice cna enter through very small openings. Go for the poison rather than traps. Poison makes the mice go outside in search of water, then they die.
An old gent told me a story if you sit on the floor in the dark and make a noise like rotten cheese mallet in hand you see the little pink eyes twinkle then wham! with the mallet I never tried it please please let me know if it works.

THey have several different types of traps.... regular kind to the traps. I used the Victor Multiple Catch 4-5 Mice and it sells for $4.

I also used the old snapping traps....the sticky pads (these work great, but require you to kill lthem when caught---if you don't they will suffer terribly)....and we now have poison down for the little buggers. I'll use the sticky pads again....IF I HAVE TO! But I still have the Victor trap and can use it still.... It's really the most humane method. But if you release....make sure you do it a long way away from your home %26amp; your neighbors. I believe they can find their way back..... the males, anyway.

There were 15 of them..... So glad it's under control now!

Good luck to ya!
AHHHH don't kill them.................i had one at home my cat wasn't bothered and it didn't fall for my trap of cheese in a jar!! so it stayed with us for a few days kept popping out every now and again then one day it turned up it the kitchen (was normally in the lounge) sat by my cat while she ate then scurried into the dining room but trapped itself behind the door so i got my glass jar and guess what...........it just jumped in!!!!!! I know if you don't like them it's not nice but they really are more scared of you so be gentle! and good luck
i remember seeing a product on q v c that plugs into the socket and emits a high frequency that doesn't hurt dogs cats etc, and it drives out mice and other pests. we also cant hear it, but my friend had one and she said it done the trick in her house.
Glue traps are the best method to trap rats and mice.

I found detailed information at http://www.pests.in
get some pest control in - either Rentokil or your local council will have a pest control division at probablu a fraction of the price. Have you tried traps? They're a bit gruesome so you may as well have them dealt with professionally
I had mice a while ago and though the old adage is ' they love cheese' I found chocolate or carrots on the trap enticed them more. Mouse problem over !
My friends live near a cornfield and when the weather turns cold the mice started coming into the house. They tried everything and could not get ahead of them. As a last resort they got one of those electronic devices, that plugs right into an electrical outlet, that gives out ';ultra-sonic'; sounds; audible to animals but not humans. Those things really work; they haven't had a mouse since they plugged it in three years ago. Oh and it must be audible only to the small rodents because it didn't' bother their dog at all.
I tried humane mouse traps but too many mice and you have to check them 6 hourly then take the mice at least a mile from the house! Then I tried poison, from a hardware shop, but let the dishes run out which means the mice build up immunity. Then I went to a farm suppliers and got a different kind of bait in a big tub, filled lots of dishes and never let them run out- no more mice. I hated poisoning them, but nothing else worked.

Good luck.
