I've got mice in my house, what is the best way to trap and kill the little suckers?

Any advice would be great, like the best bait you know of? The best way to place the bait? etc. I'm using vincent snap traps with 3 musketeers as bait right now, so far I've killed one mouse.

Thanks!I've got mice in my house, what is the best way to trap and kill the little suckers?
My first recommendation is to not use poison. If you just poison them they'll die in your walls/floors and smell terrible. As you say you have been, continue to trap them.

Mice like to run along the junction of walls and floors, so focus your traps in those areas. If you lay a trap right you can actually catch one that isn't even stopping to eat whatever food you've put down...they just happen to run into the trap and SNAP!

As others have said I'd also focus on areas behind and around appliances or large pieces of furniture.I've got mice in my house, what is the best way to trap and kill the little suckers?
Try the round Decon traps where you don't have to see or touch the dead mouse. If there's a mouse in the trap, there will be a red dot. Pick up the whole thing and toss it in the outside trash. There is no way the mouse can steal the bait and escape from one of these traps.

You bait these with peanut butter before you rotate them to set the trap.

Victor makes a very good snap trap, but there are problems with snap traps:

1. You can hurt yourself by accidentally springing the trap.

2. You have to come in contact with a dead rodent and this means that you need to wash your hands very carefully afterwards.

3. Mice can steal the bait.

4. Mice will learn to avoid these traps if they see that one of their ';little friends'; is caught in one.

Victor also makes an electronic mouse trap that you bait with peanut butter. This trap can be used over and over, but it costs about $14.95.

Good luck.
i had a mice problem this winter - we used the snap traps w/peanut butter as bait (we rubbed just a bit on the trap. then we used some mice poison in the garage.

the placement of the traps is very important also, u want to make sure they are placed in the mices path.

we now have a kitten n hopefully she will grow into a micer kat n we will not have this problm again.

good luck
behind the fridge, stove, or furniture, on the corners, where they will be coming around. if they are eating pets food already, use that as bait. i think the sticky traps are really kinda cruel, so stick with the snap trap.

Suggest snap traps with peanut butter should work fine
Get a cat from the pet store.
