What is the best way to kill rats and mice that are coming into the house. what places do you leave the bait?

i live in the valley here in northern calif. and i have tried traps and d-con pellets nothing seems to be working. also i live in the city limits were its all housing and my house gets cleaned on a daily bases. What is the best way to kill rats and mice that are coming into the house. what places do you leave the bait?
I would recommend traps. Try using cheese or peanut butter. Place the traps in a dark area maybe behind appliances or beside your trash cans. Peanut butter sticks to the trap better. Makes it a little harder for the little varmints to steal it.What is the best way to kill rats and mice that are coming into the house. what places do you leave the bait?
you will put a mosquito mat for it .it is a best solution which i think so
shot gun them they eventually will move on
Since nothing has worked so far, I'll tell you about an article on read in the paper or yahool news.

You'll need a loaf of bread. Put ';hot sauce'; on bread and let bread dry with hot sauce on it.

Since mice will follow along the baseboards, that would be a good place to put the hot sauce bread. Don't know about the route that rats take, but would think the same as mice.

They did this at Arizona Zoo in Aviary area, because they were over run by mice. All mice disappeared without even eating the hot sauce bread. It must be the hot sauce that made them run off.

I know people use hot sauce in gardens to keep critters away and other places for the same reason. So this makes sense to me. We plan on doing the same thing at our hunting cabin in the north woods of Wisconsin. I think it's worth giving it a try. Throw some on your front porch too (that's my suggestion),

If this works, we all can get rid of our mouse traps. Sounds like a deal to me.

Didn't you get hit with fire, rain, wind? Don't have to tell me that you clean on daily bases. Never thought any different.

Even if you didn't get fully hit, your probably experiencing the aftermath.

Niece lives in Souther Calf. .... Long Beach, but still worry. We were all keeping up with the harsh conditions. We have also been experiencing drought here too. What can I say. The words don't come.

I really hope the hot sauce bread works. At lease we can give them a run from the hot sauce.

Good Luck...plan on visiting in a couple months
Mice really do have poor eyesight and rely heavily on their whiskers to travel around a room, they like to be able to touch these hairs close to the baseboard if the room. Place traps where you have seen mouse droppings, inside your pantry door, behind the garbage cans, and beside the refrigerator and dishwasher in the kitchen. Just make sure the traps are flush against the wall. Glue traps seem to work best especially if they are baited with peanut butter or bacon.
