What is the best way to keep mice out of your house?

Help, we've caught 3 mice in the past month. How are they getting in? I can't find anywhere around the house they are making their way into the basement.

Any help? What is the best way to keep mice out of your house?
Check the pipes where they come into the walls. Put down some mouse traps or poison. If you use poison, make sure you look around to see if they have died under your furniture. We once found a dead one under our refrigerator trying to drink from the water pan (poisoned). What is the best way to keep mice out of your house?
Okay ,I have found Moth balls to work since mice can not stand the smell of them, so if you put a few in a plastic bag and puncture it a few time so the smell can escape and place it where you feel they are coming in at it should do the job at keeping them out or making them leave.

Moth balls are a poison, you should wear gloves, keep out of reach of children, pets.

Otherwise try peppermint oil on a cotton ball for inside the house or apartment...It works for a short time, smells good....
cats work best
Get a cat.
