Does a mother mouse need to be seperated from the father after baby mice are born?

My two mice must somehow gotten into mating season. Just last night she had 8 baby mice. Does the mother need to be seperated from the father? What should I do if they need to be seperated and for how long?Does a mother mouse need to be seperated from the father after baby mice are born?
I use to have a bunch and after the mother had them the father would kill the babies so I started taking the father out and put some where else till babies got biggerDoes a mother mouse need to be seperated from the father after baby mice are born?
no you dont have to. i breed them and i dont seperate the father from the mother. the mother is very protective of her baby and if the father gets to close she'll put him in his place just watch to make sure that he doesnt mate with her while shes nursing the babies its bad for her and the babies

female mice have what is called a post partum estrus where right after giving birth the mother will be able to breed again and become pregnant again, it is not a good idea to leave dad in with mum because one she will be pregnant again and both parents could cannabilize pups if stressed

i would... just to be safe, as he may try to mate with her again, and frankly, she isn't ready to mate so soon after giving birth.
if you dont want more babies
YES!! My mouse had babies and because the father was still in the cage she ate the babies... take the father out... i dont know for how long though...
