How do you prevent mice getting in your attic?

I have allot of mice in my attic in my laundry room in my room and any where else you can think of. My dad bought this trap for them and its way too powerful! My dad put a pen it the trap to test it and BAM it exploded into little tiny pieces! The trap is too strong and i want to prevent that from happening to the poor mouse! And i don't want to hear the sqeak when it gets killed. Please help me!How do you prevent mice getting in your attic?
Buy some mouse trps at Wal Mart; four to a box or buy mousse poison;

If you don*t want to hear them squeak do not buy those glue traps; they are terrible.

A mousse trap with a decent spring kills insstantly by breaking their neck, you won*t hear them;

Bail them with peanut butter . Don*t wait they breed like flies and you will be overrun with them They can breed at 6 weeks old.If you can afford it get an exterminator.How do you prevent mice getting in your attic?
We use the rodent repellent at heavenlyscentsofnature.com It keeps the mice outside where they should be. Just place a pouch in the room where the mice are or have been and they will leave. As long as the pouch is there they will not come back. Smells like pine trees and I can only smell a hint of it when I walk by. The mice however, haven't returned to our home for 2+ years. Costs less than traps or devices. No bait, no traps, no bodies to deliver to the dumpster.

if the mice problem has gotten that bad its time to get a pro but to start off follow the trail n u';ll find out how there getting in n u have to repair or wire mesh the entrances but to get the ones u have inside u have to kill them either traps or poison... Sorry
Try putting a few mothballs in the attic they don't like the smell and it drives them away.
