I have seen two mice in my house,how many more are there and what is the best way to get rid of them?

I am curious how quickly mice reproduce and if I am looking at a few field mice that have made their way in or if I am looking at an infestation.I have seen two mice in my house,how many more are there and what is the best way to get rid of them?
They mate fast and usually travel in families! Havoc at your local walmart. Through it behind fridge, washer, anywhere children or pets cant get to it We through several packages up in attic! The want water when they eat poison so be sure not to have water standing or they will die right there. Grandpa on farm put water out back way back to get them to go to back of property! An effective treatment is rat and mouse poison, Warfarin, or something like it. Your local farm co-op will have it. That's what we are using now. Use it in combo with the good old ';mouse trap'; and you will have success, as now is the time they are coming inside from the cold.


You may want to continue it even after you think you've got them all. Untill spring.
Mice can reproduce VERY fast. Once when I was in college, a biology prof put a male and a female in a hallway display case at the start of the term. The case was about 4' by 4' by 1' deep. At the end of the 10 week semester, there were easily 40-50 mice in there.





Best bet - get a cat or two. Otherwise, get half a dozen or so mouse traps, bait them with peanut butter, cheese, veggies, whatever. And check them at least twice a day.

The only thing that was forgotten is if you use bait - be deligent about where you place it so that children, pets, or people in an adult foster care home, etc cannot get into it. Also, we do use sticky traps. It is a decision by the homeowner what you use. Sticky traps can catch mice (sometimes they get a paw in %26amp; can get off or you will find them half on) and sometimes they can squeal. But, with bait they will eat it and go someplace to die (sometimes between walls) and smell for a couple of days. They also may eat only enough of the bait to just be sick until they feed again. There are now sonic rodent repellers. They plug into an electrical outlet and give off a high pitched noise that rodents don't like so they go to someone else's house.
Place snap traps behind the stove, furniture, fridge. Plug holes around pipes and any other holes that are coming from outside or from the crawl space with steel wool. There is no telling how many there are. Buy some rodent bait from the hardware store, grocery store or wal-mart. Place the rodent bait in the attic and the crawlspace. There probably not that many if you've only seen a few. Mice only travel 10 to 15 feet from where they burrow. DON'T USE GLUE BOARDS. The mice get trapped on them and cry until they finally die days later.

Get some decon or what mice bait available and set it under the sink, along the walls, closet, basement, bathroom, wherever you can put it down along the walls. Mice tend to travel along the walls. It may take about a week but the'll die after eating the poison. But this is a must. Walk around your house and look for holes to patch up. If you don't then the problem will continue. Even go into basement if you have and look for light coming through holes. Thats the biggest thing patching up the holes, windows closed and sealed, dryer vents that close when not in use. Check gaps around doors. Just inspect around you house. Mice can get through tiny holes. Good luck
